about

A kind of "cinema for the ear" piece, which is something new to me.

The impressive reverb impulse response for this (slightly spooky) composition was drawn from a Joseph Beuys installation that included a medium-sized room with lead-clad walls (hence the name). It was a clandestine phone recording, with the impulse being just a finger snap, so I was surprised it worked somewhat well.

The actual sounds were recorded in various places in Maine, Spain and Germany, over the last two years, some using an Aquarian H2-D Hydrophone.

It was recorded as an 8-channel piece. If you're interested in the original eight loudspeaker feeds, please let me know !

Thanks to all the cicadas, a rooster, a person operating churchbells, an employee of the City of Xàtiva sweeping the streets, and many more entities for all the lovely sounds !
